Taneka Johnson was born in Miami, Florida, and raised in the very small town of Dadeville, Alabama. She came to LA after graduating high school in the 90's with big dreams of "making it big." Taneka studied theatre and graduated from the University of Southern California in 1994. (GO TROJANS!!!!) Soon after graduating she landed her first professional acting gig touring with The Educational Theatre Company for four years. In 1998 her dreams of being on television came true when she landed roles on numerous soap operas, "The Jaime Foxx Show" and a recurring role on "Chicago Hope." Then Taneka's "big break" came in 1999, when she landed a regular gig on the highly acclaimed drama; "Any Day Now" in which Taneka portrayed fiesty legal assistant, Lakiesha Reynolds, for three seasons.
In 2002, Taneka landed a recurring role on "ER" as Kris, Dr. Korday's nanny. Over the last few years Taneka has continued performing on stage with; The Pasadena Shakespeare Co.,Cornerstone Theatre, The Los Angeles Theatre Co. as well as appearing on such shows as "The Gilmore Girls." "CSI," and "24."
Taneka wants to thank J.D. and Yolanda T. Cochran for their faith in her abilitites as an actress and first time associate producer!!!
As always Taneka dedicates everything she does to the memory of her Grandma Johnson and her sister Jolie, both of whom she lost in 1994.
